Phuket Radio
Since forming in March, 2008, 91.5 Phuket FM Radio has rapidly become a fixture of the local, expat and tourist community in Phuket Province, delivering top quality radio broadcasts on a daily basis and playing an active role in many community projects and charities.
Now in its third year, 91.5FM continues to go from strength to strength and is now the leading English language radio station in Phuket.
The success of 91.5FM is built on understanding that the key to successful radio is good music and entertaining presenters, allied with a good work ethic and understanding how important it is to keep on being innovative.
This combination has been the cornerstone to 91.5FM’s rapid rise and success, and why it continues to be the flagship station on the Pearl of the Andaman.
The two mainstays of 91.5FM, the Breakfast Show from 8-12 and the 12-4pm Afternoon Show on Mondays to Fridays, cater to a wide range of musical tastes, playing everything from ‘golden oldies’ to modern day chart music, rock, hip hop and RnB.
After 7.30pm, 91.5FM delivers quality specialised shows, each one dedicated to a particular style of music. Monday night’s The Old Record Club relives the sounds of the ‘60s to the ‘90s, Tuesday is Latin Fever, Wednesday nights welcomes Miss X and her Xtraordinary Rock Show on to the airwaves, Thursday night is Indie Night with Khun Nu and on Fridays 91.5FM gets into the mix with DJ Mikey Mike. Another strength of 91.5FM, is the station’s ability to let people know what s happening in Phuket right NOW. During the week, the latest weather forecast is delivered on an hourly basis from 8am until 4pm, plus the show presenters keep listeners up to date with the latest traffic updates through the highway hotline and highlight all the events that are taking place on the island that very day.
In addition to the DJs letting the listeners know what is going on, visitors to 91.5FM’s website, www.phuketfmradio.com, can access a comprehensive list of the ‘not to be missed’ happenings in Phuket simply by clicking on the link for events on the homepage.
This constant stream of current information and news is why 91.5FM is so popular with listeners in Phuket but also with those who are overseas and are planning on holidaying to the island, or those who have visited and want to take a piece of Phuket home with them. Phuket’s position as a major international tourism destination means its appeal is wide-ranging, attracting visitors from all parts of the world. 91.5FM is an important source of information for many of these visitors as they look to maximise their stay on the island.
To help facilitate the need for information and entertainment, 91.5FM is streamed live into more than 2,000 rooms in four- and five-star hotels around the island, increasing accessibility and also creating partnerships with high-end businesses.
On an international scale, 91.5FM is partnered with the BBC World Service and delivers international news headlines on the hour, every hour in association with Laguna Phuket, Asia’s finest destination resort.
It is partnerships such as these that ensure that 91.5FM is the top English language radio station in Phuket and will ensure that the 91.5FM continues to be ‘the station that everyone is listening to’.
